Testosterone is Not an Illegal Drug
Testosterone is a perfectly legal medication when prescribed by a medical doctor. It is the primary hormone that makes a man a man—literally. During the development of the fetus, testosterone is what is responsible for the development of the male genitalia. Then during male puberty, the body produces testosterone in high volumes and causes the physical changes that turn a boy into a man. For
adult males it contributes to sperm production, erections, libido (sex drive), muscle tone and even biological factors such as maintaining strong bones.
Old Reputation
Testosterone used to be better known for its abuse in sports and its secretive use in weight training locker rooms, than the actual health benefits it provides. Many professional sports organizations have rules against testosterone; because of the advantage it gives athletes who take testosterone over those who do not.
Times Have Changed
Now testosterone replacement therapy has become widely accepted as a healthy medical treatment for andropause or hypogonadism (low testosterone). Although it is important to note, the use of testosterone without a physician’s prescription is considered illegal and can be dangerous because you do not know exactly what you are getting. With the proper blood tests and consistent monitoring by a
trained medical doctor, testosterone therapy has become a reliable treatment used by millions of men to take control of their life, revitalize relationships and enjoy the aging process.
